Detection of Web History?

Previously I know my parents had access to my internet and could even read my msn convos. I think that was through the internet and the set up.. I moved and we got new internet and i got a new computer.. We are using a internet service called ZyXEL.. Is there anyway for them to read my msn convos through this internet? If so, how can i disable it?
